Our History
The roots of Mystic Valley Urology date back to 1969 when three urologists merged a Tufts academic urologic practice with a private practice based in Winchester. The original goal was to bring high-quality academic medical care out to patients in the suburbs, so that it would not be necessary for them to travel into Boston. We started with three physicians at two locations, and over time expanded to a group of about seven urologists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants at one central location in Stoneham.
Over the intervening decades we have witnessed dramatic changes in our specialty. We have continued to recruit physicians trained in the latest technologies, such as minimally invasive robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery, the surgical use of lasers for stones and prostate disease, advanced fertility treatments and more.
In July 2019, Mystic Valley Urology joined Winchester Physician Associates, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health.
