History

The roots of Mystic Valley Urology date back to 1969 when three urologists merged a Tufts teaching urologic practice based at St. Elizabeth's Hospital with a practice based in Winchester. The original goal was to bring the high academic standards associated with a major medical school out to patients in the suburbs so that it would not be necessary for them to travel downtown to experience the care available at centers of excellence. It started with three physician providers at two locations and now has expanded to nine providers, six physicians and three mid-levels, at one location in Stoneham. While we no longer treat patients at St. Elizabeth's we have maintained and strengthened our relationship with Tufts University School of Medicine through the Winchester Hospital/Tufts surgical teaching program. In addition, we have a full-time nursing staff to assist us in providing state-of-the-art care to our patients.

Over the past four decades we have witnessed dramatic changes in our specialty and have continued to recruit physicians trained in the latest technologies such as robot assisted laparoscopic sugery, surgical use of laser, minimally invasive stone treatment, advanced fertility treatments and more.
